The 1975 (Deluxe)

So hello again.  Today, I am going to write about the album The 1975 (Deluxe).  If cannot already tell by the name of the album, this is by the 1975.  They are an indie pop band from the great land of England.  There music is very controversial in the sense of the lyrics.  I only picked some of the more popular songs that people may know because of radio play.  Alright, let's get into this.

1.  The 1975

This song is an introduction to the band and the album.   It starts out with light music and sounds.  There is a light singing

2.  The City

This song is about a drug overdosage that he might have had.  This drug trip went wrong for him and he ended up needing help.  He is saying that his mom is trying to help him and his brother is just sitting there watching this thing go on in his life.

3.  M.O.N.E.Y

He is talking about needing money.  He wants to get girls to be interested in him.  Once they stop being interested, they will normally leave, but he doesn't want that.  He wants to buy them drinks and things to keep them interested.  He just needs money to do so, which is what the whole song is about.

4.  Chocolate

This song is about drugs and sex.  It is too plain and simple, yet they are not saying these things straightforward.  The word chocolate in this sense is talking about the drugs.  They don't want to come straight out and say drugs so they use a really nice word that almost everybody likes to cover up their words.

5.  Girls

This song is actually number eleven on the record, but the song that was originally not appropriate to be writing about.  This song, however, is somewhat better.  This song is about, obviously, girls.  He is talking about the younger and  immature girls that act spontaneously or irrational.  He is tired of the immature act that she is treating him with.

So those were some of the biger songs of the album.  They were fun to listen too and I can't wait to do it again.  Thanks for reading.

Blurryface

This week I am going to be listening to Twenty One Pilots newest album Blurryface.  This one is going to be interesting because of the artists views on his own songs.  He says in almost every interview that asks about the meaning of his songs that he doesn't want to give a meaning for the songs because he wants the listeners to have their own meaning for each and every song.  So all of these song meanings that I am giving are all my opinion.  If you want to have your own opinion, then I suggest that you go and listen to the songs yourself.  Now, lets get into the listening.

1. Heavydirtysoul

This song is almost like a call for help.  The chorus of the song is saying 'can you save my heavy dirty soul', which is almost like a cry to anybody to hear him and not let anything happen to him/ other people

2. Stressed Out

This song is about insecurities.  He is saying things like I care what you think and I wish to go back to the good old days.  He is channeling issues that everybody has in their lives.  He is talking about how people worry about the material things in life.  He is targeting a younger audience with these lyrics and yet they can speak to every audience.

3. Ride

This song is a pretty good song to chill to.  It has a slow tempo and a very calming sound to it.  He is wanting people to just live in the moment and not worry about thing so much.  He wants people to keep a piece of mind about things.

4. Fairly Local

This song has a different meaning for everyone, but this is my interpretation of the lyrics.   He is sing about how he is never changing his style.  He doesn't want to conform to society and their views as normal.  He believes that his music is good enough for him and for the people that listen to him.  He never wants to change.

5. Tear In My Heart

He is singing about a love interests.  He has a mild crush on this person and is high on infatuation with her.  He doesn't want to ever let her go because of how much he loves her.

Alright, that is everything for this week.  I love Twenty One Pilots and I love this album.  I had a great time reviewing some of the songs off this album.  Thank you for reading and I will be back next time.

That's Christmas To Me (Deluxe Edition)

Hello everybody and welcome back.  This week, I am taking you through a Christmas album, but only in the spirit of Christmas.  I am listening to That's Christmas To Me by Pentatonix.  It is their deluxe Christmas album and it is amazing.  If you don't know who they are, they are an a capella group with only five members.  It is a very difficult task to do a capella with only five people. Because this is a capella, I am not going to be talking about the lyrics, but more about the arrangement of the voices and songs. Let's go.

1.  Hark the Herald Angels Sing

I love this take on the song.  They make this song very modern with the bass and the beatboxing.  The harmonies and tempo of the song are faster than the original, yet they make it work.

2.  White Winter Hymnal

This song has everything in it.  It has the beatboxing, the four part harmony, and even clapping and hitting.  The clapping and hitting is actually a very difficult thing to do.  You need to have the coordination to do both at the same time.

3.  Sleigh Ride

This song has a very modern spin on it as well.  The beat/bass of the song is very mello.  The honestly didn't get to far away from the original composition, yet it is a better set up than the original.

4.  Winter Wonderland/Don't Worry Be Happy ft. Tori Kelly

The mash up of these two songs are not something that many people could think of.  You would never even think that the two songs go together, yet the composition of the two are amazingly put together.  It just shows that almost all songs are able to be put together to make an amazing mashup.

5.  That's Christmas To Me

This song is an original song that they wrote and composed.  It's lyrics all have some meaning to every person in the group.  It is also a five part harmony instead of having a beat behind it.  Each member gets their own part to sing as a solo, except for Kevin, who is normally the beatboxer.  In the video, they look back to childhood memories of Christmas time.  It show's the home video's that their parents took.

6.  Mary, Did You Know?

This song is quite a personal song to me.  Me and my mom love to sing this during the holiday season.  There is a four part harmony in this song and they even had Kevin singing in this one.  This song is very special to me because it is special to my mom.  I love to listen to it and hear the harmonies and beat mix perfectly together.

7.  Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy

There are no words in this song, so it is an amazing match up for an acapella group.  The mix of all of the harmonies of sounds are perfectly in sync and they mix well with the bass and beat.  It is quite difficult to fill a room with music and have no words when your considered a pop group, yet they executed this flawlessly.

This was just a snippet of the whole deluxe album.  If you want to hear more, I invite you to listen to the whole album.  Thank you for reading and I will see you next time.

I also added four of the music video's to the bottom if you wanted to watch them.

Love Drunk

This week, I am going to be listening to 'Love Drunk' by the band Boys Like Girls.  This album was released on September 7, 2009.  This album has 11 songs on it.  It also reached 8 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and number 1 on U.S. Billboard Top Rock Albums charts.  It was very well praised in it's time, so lets get into these songs.

1.  Heart Heart Breaker

This song is about heartbreak, obviously.  It is this person who is mad about what is happening to their relationship, yet he knows that she doesn't care what happens.  She is already out of the door, wanting to end everything.  He knows that he shouldn't care, but he cannot stop.

2.  Love Drunk

This song is about a hard breakup.  This person is drunk on love and they ended it in some terrible way.  They are going through the memories of this relationship like it they are drunk, but after thinking about them, they become hungover with the feeling.

3.  She's Got a Boyfriend Now

This song is about a girl that he had a crush on when they were teenagers.  He has recently seen her and met with her, noticing that he still has the same feelings from their teenage years.  He wants to have some sort of relationship with her, but he finds out that she has a boyfriend.

4.  Two Is Better Than One ft. Taylor Swift

This song is about a relationship.  They are trying to get this relationship to work.  He is reminiscing on the times that they had together.  In reality, it is quite a rocky relationship that is starting to not work out.

5.  Contagious

This song is about a boy that is crazy in love with somebody.  He never wants to lose her and he feels so many emotions when he is with her.  He feels like he cannot live without her.

So these were the songs that I listened to on the album, and I encourage you to listen to the rest.  This one was quite fun to listen to because I remember some of these songs from 2009 radio.  Thank you for reading and I will see you next week.

Blue Neighborhood

Hello everybody.  So today, I am going to be reacting to this album a little bit differently.  The writer of the album actually had a video trilogy from the EP and the new album.  His name is Troye Sivan Mellet, but he goes by Troye Sivan on stage and on YouTube.  He has a combination of over 4.5 million subscribers on YouTube.  His newest album is named 'Blue Neighborhood'.  It sounds like a fun new type of music that I am very excited to listen to.

1.  Wild

This song pertains to forbidden love.  Revolving around this concept is quite a cute in a sense that he is referring to living in a suburban and jewish neighborhood.  He has this feeling that to be who he is is wrong and that he needs to hide it.

2.  Bite

This song is talking about being hurt in the past.  He is asking his newfound partner to be careful with him and to not 'Bite".  He is asking them to not hurt him.

3.  Fools

This song is pretty much summed up by another song.  It is the song I looked at last week called 'Damned If I Do Ya. Damned If I Don't'.  He is saying that he was a fool for letting this person go, yet he did it for a reason.

4. Ease (feat. Brood

This sing is about his family.  He travles a lot for his job, which puts his famliy in this state of panic.  He is telling them that they can calm down and that he is going to be ok.  He is trying to put his family at 'Ease' with this song.

5.  The Quiet

He is talking about another relationship.  He want's his partner to just speak up and tell him what they are feeling.  He wants there to be something other than silence between them.

6. DKLA (feat. Tkay Maidza)

This song stands for 'Don't Keep Love Around'.  It is pretty self explanitory once you know the title.  He doesn't want to keep any sort of love in his life, because it all ends up with him hurting.

These are the first six songs of the album.  They are also from his EP for this album called Wild.  If you want to know the rest of the story, I suggest you go and listen to the rest of the album.  I will see you next week.

Nothing Personal

Hello again.  Today is quite a special day.  This album is actually the only album from this artists list that I haven't listened to in full.  This is a very rare occasion and I would love to enjoy it with everybody who reads it.  So, this week I have decided to review 'Nothing Personal' by All Time Low. They are an amazing band, on their records and live.  This album was released on July 7, 2009.  This album seems like it is going to be fun, yet very short with only 12 songs.  Lets go on this fun and musical journey together, shall we? (WARNING: Song's include swearing if you listen to them.)

1.  Weightless

This song is your own interpretations.  You can take any of these lyrics and put down what you think is right for you.  For me, I think that it is talking about my school life.  It says things like '

2.  Break Your Little Heart

This is plain and simple a break up song.  The writer/singer is pretty much putting up the middle finger to their ex.  The lyrics 'you were fake, I was great' are pretty much pointing to the ex.  He is saying that the ex was nothing to him and that what they had was pretty much a joke.

3.  Damned If I Do Ya (Damned If I Don't)

This song is about a rocky relationship.  He doesn't want to stay because things aren't going the way that he planned them to.  On the other hand, he loves her and he cannot leave her.  He is very conflicted on what he should do.

4.  Lost In Stereo

This song is about a girl.  She is at this club having the time of her life, but every guy wants to be with her.  She doesn't want to be with any of them because she is 'Lost in Stereo'

5.  Stella

This song is about a drink named Stella Artois.  He is talking about falling in love alone, meaning black out drunk.  Also, saying things like 'losing myself in a chemical moment,' signal to his drinking and alcohol intake.  He want's to give up this so called 'Stella' but he keeps coming back for more.

6. Sick Little Games

When you travel for things like music, you meet people.  These people can either end up being your best most trusted friend or they can end up being fake.  This is talking about the fake people who like to play their 'Sick Little Games' on you and that I need to 'get away' from it all.

So that is a little snippet of my interpretation of the album.  If you want to interpret the rest, I suggest you listen to the album.  Thanks for reading and I will see you next week.

Take the Poll

I have decided to let other people choose albums for me.  I want everybody who reads this to vote on a random title up at the top of the screen.  There are four choices.  I chose not to include artists, so just choose at random.  Thank you.
